Susan began her career in 1983 at The Globe and Mail. There she worked as the Parliamentary Correspondent and editorial board member.

From 1999 to 2002, she served as a columnist and feature writer for Ottawa Citizen. Likewise, she was the senior political writer at the National Post. Moreover, in 2003, she joined Toronto Star and worked as a Senior writer for 11 years.

As of now, she serves as National columnist Toronto News based in Ottawa. Besides, she is an author of four books.

In 1993, she released her first book titled, United We Fall: The Crisis of Democracy in Canada. Her other books include Shaughnessy: The Passionate Politics of Shaughnessy Cohen (2000), Juggernaut: Paul Martin’s Campaign for Chretien’s Crown (2003), and Shopping for Votes: How Politicians Choose Us, and We Choose Them (2013).
