Melanie worked in public relations before pursuing a career in broadcast journalism. She began her journalism career at the local Ontario radio stations working as a reporter, videographer, and weekend news anchor.
Later, she worked as a weekend news anchor and videographer at CHCH News. In 2010, she joined CityNews and began covering numerous events on the network. Besides, she was the face of the CityNews weekend newscasts before helping re-launch CityNews “The 5” in 2013 as a co-anchor.
Moreover, she anchored the news for Breakfast Television, Toronto’s number 1 morning show. There, she appeared on the morning’s top stories, and also served as its occasional news anchor. As of now, she serves as an anchor and reporter on CityNews.

The journalist has been relishing a married life with her husband named Scott Dylan for nearly a decade. The pair tied a wedding knot on 6 May 2011 and has been inseparable since then. They recently celebrated their 10th wedding celebrity during the pandemic in May 2021.
Melanie and her husband share a baby boy named Joshua Dylan. Well, she has a tragic story on her journey to motherhood. She struggled with infertility and took four years to become pregnant. She gave birth to a baby boy via in vitro fertilization on 18 February 2016.
Joshua is her all-time favorite person like any mother perceives their son. The family on his 5th birthday also celebrated together and the birthday cake was ordered from SMASHiTCAKES located in Halton Region.
The manufacture designed the birthday cake in ninja theme since the little one is a big fan of ninja and samurais. Joshua expressed utmost satisfaction regarding the birthday cake designs that his mother had ordered.
Some months earlier, they even celebrated the 2020 Christmas alongside their pet dog. Despite their busy work schedules, the two still manages to find time for Joshua and be exemplar parents for his ethical and humble upbringing.
It is more apparent for Joshua who has a heart of gold. For the 2020 holidays, he wanted to bring food and toys to the local fire hall for the kids and families.
