Paige’s father Phil held a job in veterinary for nearly two decades. Later, her parents ran a shearing business in her hometown.

As a junior, Paige won five singles and five doubles titles including the doubles at the Grade-2 Biesterbos Open in the Netherlands with partner Lizette Cabrera. She has competed in the Australian Open junior singles twice.
As a collegiate athlete at Georgia Tech, she earned an NCAA At-Large bid into the doubles championship. Likewise, she was the 2018 All-ACC First Team and the 2018 ITA All-American in both singles and doubles.
Hourigan made her WTA Tour debut at the Auckland Open in 2013. Likewise, she became a runner-up at the 2019 Auckland Open with partner Taylor Townsend.
