Collegiately, she played at the University of Texas at Austin for three years. During her time, she led her team to win the NCAA championship in May 2021.

Lulu had an amazing run at the Wimbledon 2024. She reached to the quarterfinals of the Grand Slam tournament after defeating Emma Raducanu in the Round of 16 match.

Sadly, Sun lost to Donna Vekic in three sets of 7-5, 4-6, 1-6 in the quarterfinal match played on 9 July 2024.
