The 46-years-of-age entertainer was born as Ari David Shaffir on 12 February 1974 in New York City, New York, the United States. He is the second of four children of his parents Nat Shaffir and Meryl Shaffir. After his birth, he moved to North Carolina with his family. Eventually, when Ari was nine years old, he relocated to Maryland.

About 6 feet and 2 inches (1.9 meters) tall in height, Ari attended the high school in Rockville, Maryland, for his early education.
