Born as Will Scott Magnay on 10 June 1998, he is now 22 years of age. His parents Brett Magnay and Shelley Magnay raised him in Brisbane, Australia.
His father Brett serves as the Managing Director at Seafast in Queensland, Australia.
Magnay is the middle child in the family. He has an older brother named Campbell Magnay and a younger sister named Olivia Magnay.
Campbell is an Australian rugby union player currently playing as a Centre for the Suntory Sungoliath in the Japan Top Rugby competition. Moreover, he represented Queensland Country in the National Rugby Championship.
The 6-foot-10-inch attended Nudgee College and the Australian Institute of Sport in his home country.
Earlier Stint With Brisbane Bullets
Magnay played college basketball at the University of Tulsa for the 2016–17 season. In 32 games for the Tulsa Golden Hurricane, he averaged 3.9 points and 3 rebounds.
Afterward, he returned to Australia and signed a three-year deal with his hometown team, the Brisbane Bullets, in 2017. He played in the National Basketball League for three sons.
New Orleans Pelicans Waived Him In 2021
On 2nd December 2020, Will signed a two-way contract with the NBA team New Orleans Pelicans and their NBA G League affiliate, the Erie BayHawks.
Magnay made his G League debut on 10 February 2021. Likewise, he made his NBA debut for the Pelicans against the Los Angeles Lakers on 23 March 2021.
However, on 12 April 2020, the Pelicans waived him. Will has now decided to stay in the United States to pursue more NBA opportunities and prepare for Australia’s Tokyo Olympics campaign.
