Malik B was one prominent member of American hip hop band The Roots. The discovery of the musical band was back in late 1980s when it began to perform as The Square Roots with rapper Black Thought and drummer Questlove in 1989. Almost two years later, Malik and bassist Leonard Hubbard got the fortune to join the band in 1991. Its studio album was Organix released in 1993 and two years later, they came up with a second album, Do You Want More?!!!??! in 1995.
Likewise, some of their other studio albums are Things Fall Apart (1999), Phrenology (2002), The Tipping Point (2004), Rising Down (2008), Wake Up! (2010) and …And Then You Shoot Your Cousin in 2014.

Malik took his last breath at the age of 47 on 29 July 2020. His musical band took their verified social media account to pay homage to their part who had an impactful collaboration in all these years. The band has requested the fan following to respect his family at the time of mourning.
