Jalen Lecque is an American professional basketball player for the NBA team, the Phoenix Suns. Previously, he played college basketball for NC State Wolfpack men’s basketball team.

Jalen was born on 3^rd June 2000 to parents Derrick Lecque and Michelle Smith in Manhattan, New York. His father used to work at a barbershop and his mother used to work at a hospital. When he was a toddler, his family moved to Teaneck, New Jersey, where he spent his childhood.

Lecque pursued his high school education at Teaneck High School. The young basketball talent stands at a towering height of 6 feet 4 inches (1.93 meters) and weighs 190 lbs (86 kg).

His Early Career; College, NBA

Jalen began to play basketball at Monsignor Scanlan High School in The Bronx. Later, he moved to Christ School in North Carolina. There, he took his team to the 3A North Carolina Independent School Athletic Association (NCISAA) state semifinals.

In July 2018, Lecque got transferred to Brewster Academy for senior season. According to his stats, he averaged 12.6 points, 4.6 assists and 4.1 rebounds for the team. Afterward, he was committed to playing college basketball for NC State in October 2018.

However, in April 2019 he got declared for the 2019 NBA draft. He was signed by the Phoenix Suns as an undrafted free agent in June 2019. He is likely to earn a remarkable salary from his new NBA stint.
