The player was born as Cameron Jordan Johnson on 13 March 1996 in Moon Township, Pennsylvania to parents, Gilbert and Amy Johnson. His dad was a former Basketball player of Pitt between 1988 to 1990, and his mother had made 1,018 points at Kent State. His other family includes of his three brothers where one of their names is Donovan Johnson.

Cam went to Moon Area High School in Moon, Pennsylvania. The player stands at the height of 6 feet 9 inches (2.06 m) tall and weighs around 95 kg.

Career: College & Professional NBA

After school, he played for his college team Panthers between 2014 to 2017. Sadly, he had to be sidelined in his freshman year due to some injury. During his time at Panthers, his stats were an average 11.9 points per game and hit 41.5% of his three-point attempts. Likewise, he also went to complete his graduation in communication over there. From then, he moved to another college team, North Carolina Tar Heels (UNC) to play for two years from 2017 to 2019.

In the same year, he got the fortune to be in the NBA Draft when the Timberwolves chose him as the eleventh overall pick. Right after that, his former UNC teammate, Cobey White said, “I’m getting chills” through the video posted by NBA TV on their Facebook profile on 20 June 2019. A few moments later, he and Dario Šarić got traded Suns for Jarrett Culver, the sixth pick of the draft.
