Austin R. Dillon was born on 27 April 1990 to the racing family. He is the son of former race car driver Mike Dillon and Tina Dillon. His father was a professional stock car racing driver for Richard Childress Racing and now serves general manager for the team.

Dillon with a height of 5 feet 8 inches grew up with his younger brother Ty Dillon in Welcome, North Carolina. He pursued his early education from Forsyth Country Day School. He then went to High Point University in High Point, North Carolina, from where he began his racing career.

His Racing Career

Austin his racing career at the age of 15 in the Bandolero Mini Cars series and the Legend Cars Series in 2005. He became the 2008 Rookie of the Year in the NASCAR Camping World East Series. In 2009, he made his first Camping World Truck Series start at Iowa Speedway, driving the No. 3 truck.

Dillon won NASCAR Rookie of the Year in the Truck Series in 2010. Similarly, he was crowned the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Champion in 2011. He has nine career wins in the Xfinity Series and seven career wins in the Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series.
