Clinton Edward Bowyer was born on 30 May 1979 in Emporia, Kansas. He is one of three children of Chris Bowyer and Jana Bowyer and has two brothers Andy and Casey.

Bowyer with a height of 6 feet (1.83 meters) attended Emporia High School in Emporia, Kansas. Afterward, he went to Flint Hills Technical College.

His Racing Career

Clint started racing at the age of five in motocross. He began racing street stocks at Thunderhill Speedway in Mayetta, Kansas in 1996, and eventually won the Modified championship in 2000. He began racing in the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series in 2002.

In 2003, Bowyer raced a full season in the NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division Midwest series. Legendary car owner Richard Childress took notice of Bowyer when Clint finished second in a 2003 race. Again in 2004, he began racing in the NASCAR Busch Series for Richard Childress Racing. In 2004 and 2005, he competed for full time in the NASCAR Nationwide Series and finished as series runner-up in 2005. He founded his own Dirt Late Model team, Clint Bowyer Racing in 2008.

His racing team won its first Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Championship with Don O’Neal driving the No. 5 Peak Performance car. In October 2011, he penned a 3-year contract to race the No. 15 Toyota for Michael Waltrip Racing.

The NASCAR legend in March 2020 won over Jimmie Johnson to secure the Auto Club 400 which is his fourth prestigious title win. For a fact, he won the race in the 23rd place, one lap down, making himself qualify for the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series playoffs. According to Motor Sports, the racer announced that he would retire at the end of the season and ally with the Fox Sports NASCAR broadcast panel in 2021.
