Named the Big 12 Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Year twice, Buddy Hield is associated with the NBA side, Sacramento Kings. Before NBA, he enjoyed a college career in Oklahoma for about four years.

At 6 feet 4 inches (1.93 meters) height and 220 pounds (100 kg) weight, Buddy Hield enjoys a soothing professional basketball career since his debut in 2016. He was initially picked 6th overall by the New Orleans Pelicans.

The 27-years-of-age NBA player was born as Chavano Rainer “Buddy” Hield on 17 December 1992, in Freeport, the Bahamas, He was fifth of seven children of his mother, Jackie Bryanen and father Richard Bryanen. He and his other three brothers and three sisters were raised by Jackie as a single mother.

Buddy was fascinated by basketball from his young age. He was first featured in the high school by The Ali Bahamian Brand, a basketball magazine from the Bahamas. Eventually, he showed his early ability to lead his team from a young age by taking his Jack Hayward High School basketball team to the championship of the Providence Holiday Tournament.

Later on, he was recruited to the Sunrise Christian Academy where he led his team to the National Association of Christian Athlete’s national championship. Furthermore, he enrolled at the University of Oklahoma to play the college basketball for the Oklahoma Sooners.

Playing for four-season from 2012 to 2016, Buddy recorded the college stats of .448 field goal percentage, .390 3-point field goal percentage, and 1.9 assists per game from 118 starts.

Buddy entered the NBA field after being picked by the New Orleans Pelicans as the sixth overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft, on 23 June 2016.  Soon on 20 February 2017, he was traded by the club to Sacramento Kings.

Initially, he had a rookie deal that earned him a salary of $3,517,200 in the 2016/17 season. Afterward, he earned $3,675,480 and $3,833,760 in the 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons respectively.

Eventually, on 21 October 2019, Buddy penned and extension of his rookie contract for a total of four years and $86 million, up to $106 million including the performance incentives. As per the deal, he received $4,861,207 in the 2019/20 season, and is set to receive $26,431,817 in 2020/21, $24,477,272 in 2021/22, and $22,522,728 in 2022/23 season.
