Born as Robin Everardus Gosens on 5 July 1994, he is 26 years of age. He one of the two children of parents Holger Gosens and Martina Gosens.
The player grew up with a younger sister named Chantal Gosens in Emmerich am Rhein, Germany. Chantel is a bachelor student at Hochschule Fresenius.
Robin’s father is Dutch, and his mother is German. He had only a German passport when he was 18 years old and later applied for a Dutch passport. As of now, he holds both German and Dutch passports.
Robin was eligible to play for both Germany and Netherlands. However, he chose Germany to play at the international level.
His Career Journey
Earlier, Robin played for the local clubs, including Fortuna Elten, 1. FC Bocholt and VfL Rhede. In 2012, he joined SBV Vitesse and signed his first professional contract with the club on 13 August 2013.
Afterward, Gosens went to Dutch side FC Dordrecht on loan and played for one year until 2015. He then joined Heracles Almelo on a free transfer on 4 June 2015. There, he played for two seasons until 2017.
On 2 June 2017, Gosens got transferred to Serie A side Atalanta. With both offensive and defensive skills, he proved himself as one of the top wing-backs in Serie A.
Robin did not play for the youth team representing his country. Meanwhile, he got his first call up for the Germany national football team on 25 August 2020.
On 3 September 2020, he made his national team debut in the 2020–21 UEFA Nations League match against Spain. Likewise, he was included in the UEFA Euro 2020 squad on 19 May 2021.
