The multi-talented musician was born as Christopher Alvin Stapleton on 15 April 1978 to parents Herbert Joseph Stapleton, Jr. and Carol J. Mace Stapleton. His father was a coal miner and his mother was a worker at the local health department.

Chris grew up in Staffordsville, Kentucky along with his older brother, Herbert Joseph III and younger sister, Melanie Brook. He went to Johnson Central High School to pursue his high school education. Afterward, he went to Vanderbilt University to study engineering, but he dropped out after a year.

His Music Career & Net Worth

Chris began his music career in 2001 after signing a contract with the publishing house, Sea Gayle Music. He was a frontman for the bluegrass group The Steeldrivers and also founded the Southern rock band, The Jompson Brothers in 2010.

In 2015, he released his first solo album, Traveller, which became number one on the US Billboard 200. Similarly, his second album, From A Room: Volume 1 was released in 2017, from which he won CMA Award for Album of the Year and also a Grammy Award for Best Country Album.  

Moreover, Stapleton co-wrote six number-one country songs that include Kenny Chesney‘s “Never Wanted Nothing More“, George Strait‘s “Love’s Gonna Make It Alright“, and Luke Bryan‘s “Drink a Beer“.

Married To Musician Wife; Children

Well, the 40-year-old is a married man, whose wife is also a singer and songwriter. He tied the wedding knot with Morgane Stapleton on 30 October 2007.

Morgane, aged 36 performs background on harmony and duet vocals in Stapleton’s band. The two met while were working at adjacent publishing houses and dated for four years before their marriage.

The couple is already the parents of four children and is set to welcome the fifth child soon. They have a son and a daughter and in April 2018, they welcomed twin boys Samuel Stapleton and Macon Stapleton. In November 2018, they announced that they are expecting their fifth child onstage during his concert at Madison Square Garden.
