Bill K. Kapri, aka Kodak Black, is an American rapper and music artist known for his singles Zeze, Roll in Peace, and No Flockin. Apart from music, he frequently hits the media surface due to controversial and legal issues.

Kodak Black Bio; Early Life, Height

Born as Dieuson Octave on 11 June 1997, Kodak Black is 24 years of age. He was raised by his mother in Pompano Beach, Florida. His parents immigrated from Haiti and later settled in the United States.

Kodak Black’s father abandoned his family when he was young. However, he has an immense love for his father. One such instance is he bought a truck for his father on the occasion of father’s day 2020.

Kapri, with a height of 5 feet 6 inches, had an interest in rapping from an early age. He used to go to a local trap house to record music after school.

Raised in the notorious neighborhood, he was involved in brawls and breaking and entering with his friends.

His Music Career

In 2009, Kapri joined the rap group Brutal Youngnz with the stage name J-Black when he was 12. He released his first mixtape, Project Baby, in 2013 and two mixtapes, Heart of the Projects and Institution, in 2014 and 2015.

Kapri’s single, Tunnel Vision, released in 2017, became his first top 10 hits on the US Billboard Hot 100. In the same year, he released his debut album, Painting Pictures, which reached 3 on the Billboard 200. His second album Dying to Live hit the mass at the end of 2018, which featured rappers Travis Scott, Offset, and Lil Pump.

For his love for music Kodak Black even released an album while incarcerated, named Bill Israel in 2020.

Recently, he came to media attention after revealing his intention to date Lauren London; Lauren is the long-term partner of late rapper Nipsey Hussle.

Through an Instagram live video, he regarded him as the best man and gave her a whole year as she might need a whole year to be crying and shit for him. His statement arose the criticism-mixed comments over the internet.

He later apologized to Lauren, stating that he is extremely sorry if he disrespected her.

Controversy

Kodak Black puts his name on multiple controversies and legal issues because of his interdisciplinary activities. Well, he faced arrests several times because of a drug, weapon possession, and other charges.

In January 2018, he was arrested inside his Florida home on multiple charges stemming from an Instagram live-feed video.

The video showed him passing marijuana and a gun around a small child. Initially, he faced seven felony charges that include child neglect, grand theft of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and marijuana possession.

Similarly, on 25 April 2019, FBI and local police raided a tour bus parked outside Kodak Black’s Washington D.C. concert while performing inside the venue. However, he was not arrested in that incident.
