About 6 feet and 2 inches (1.88 meters) tall in height, Hunter attended Eastside Catholic School in Sammamish, Washington. There, he commenced his amateur football career. Later on, he committed to the University of Washington to play college football.

His Career Stats, NFL Draft

During his high school career, Hunter recorded the impressive stats of 138 passes for 2,483 yards and 35 touchdowns. Subsequently, he took his amateur career to the college stage and played nine games with five starts as a true freshman at Washington. Hunter completed the season with 22 receptions for 331 yards and a touchdown.

Hunter was forced to play only five games due to the injury as a sophomore in 2018. Eventually, he recorded 11 receptions for 238 yards and one touchdown. Hunter returned from the injury in 2019. He then announced that he would forgo his senior season and declared for the 2020 NFL Draft.

After being undrafted in the 2020 NFL Draft, Hunter was picked eventually by the Detroit Lions.
