Initially, Ian took a redshirt his freshman year in order to preserve a year of eligibility. In his redshirt freshman year in 2017, he completed 46 passes for 456 yards and recorded 4 touchdowns from 10 games.

Later on 29 December 2019, he announced via his Instagram account that he would be returning to Notre Dame for a fifth season as a redshirt senior.

His overall college career stats read at 72 touchdowns for 8948 passing yards and 17 touchdowns for 1517 rushing yards from 45 games.

Drafted By The New Orleans Saints

Ian is set to begin his NFL career now. He was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the fourth round 133rd overall, of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Prior to that, he signed his four-year rookie contract with Saints on 8 June 2021.

Before Kendall, Ian was in a relationship with his girlfriend named Ashton Boyd. Ashton used to play soccer in her high school.
