Upon completing the General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) in 2013, she got lucky to train on David Evans yard in Wales. During the year’s winter, it took her almost six weeks to ride trackwork in Santa Anita, California. A year later, she became an apprentice jockey to the Wiltshire yard of trainer Richard Hannon and secured her first victory on Billesdon Bess in the August 2017 Upavon Fillies’ Stakes.
Two years later, she made a new record winning the British season as a female jockey securing 116 victories in 2019. The previous record was set by Josephine Gordon with 106 victories in 2017. She also rode five winners in one day at Windsor Racecourse, becoming the first female jockey to secure five races on the same card in the United Kingdom.

The 24-year-old is yet to exchange the wedding vows and refer to her special one as the husband. But for now, she relishes a budding relationship with Tom Marquand for quite some years now. He is eight years older than her, born in April 1988. They first met in their pony racing days and were for a time apprentices together at Richard Hannon’s yard.
Tom is in a professional jockey career since 2014 and became the champion apprentice jockey, a year later. One of his recent victories is the Galileo Chrome in the St Leger Stakes at Doncaster on 12 September 2020. He had only been given the ride the prior day when jockey Shane Crosse tested Covid-19 positive.
