Giovanni Scelzi is just 19 years of age and was born on 8 November 2001. His is the youngest son of parents Gary Scelzi and Julianne Scelzi.
His father, Gary, is a dragster racer and midget car owner. Gary retired from drag racing in 2008 to focus on his family-owned company, Scelzi Enterprises. Moreover, his mother is the owner of the Red Rose Transportation, a race team in Fresno, California.
Giovanni has an elder brother named Dominic Scelzi, who is also a racer. Dominic won his first sprint car main event at the age of 15 in 2012 at Watsonville, California. His paternal grandparents are Monroe James Scelzi and Margaret Teore.

His Career Journey
Gio has been racing sprint cars since 2016 and has competed in the World of Outlaws, American Sprint Car Series, and All-Star Circuit.
Scelzi became the youngest winner in World of Outlaws history, winning the National Open at Williams Grove Speedway in Pennsylvania in 2018.
At the age of 18, Gio became the youngest driver to win a feature at Knoxville Raceway, using the highest groove on the racetrack to take the lead. Moreover, he made his first career win in the United States Auto Club midget race, taking the checkered flag at Placerville Speedway in the same year.
In September 2020, he scored a career-best ARCA West finish of second at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Bullring.
