Marla began her career as a writer and producer at KFTY-TV in Sonoma County. In 2000, she moved to KPIX CBS 5 in San Francisco and she worked on the station’s Evening Magazine. After working for two years, she began her new stint as a news reporter at CBS/CW+/Telemundo-affiliated KION TV.

Moreover, from 2004 to 2007, Tellez worked at CBS 5 KPIX as a correspondent/producer for nightly evening magazine show, Eye on the Bay. Additionally, she was a General Assignment news reporter for CBS 5 Eyewitness News. In 2008, she joined KOB-TV, where she worked as an anchor of Eyewitness News 4 Today and Eyewitness News 4 Midday at noon. Afterward, she joined KNTV/NBC Bay Area in 2010 and anchored the midday newscast for three years.

In 2014, Tellez joined FOX 11 also known as KTTV based in Los Angeles. She now anchors the noon newscast and appears on the network’s weekly segment, Top Property.

The 44-year-old is now married to her love Jon Colletti for more than three years. The duo exchanged their wedding vows on 9 September 2017. The wedding ceremony was held in San Francisco, California, where both were raised.

The duo first met through online media and started dating. After dating for several months, they got engaged in Santa Monica Pier. Her husband Jon now serves as the Senior Financial Analyst at Blackstone Consulting, Inc. based in Los Angeles. Moreover, he earned his MBA in Accounting from the University of Phoenix in 2004.
