Darla started her career in media from WCLK Radio in Atlanta and later went to ONDA Madrid Radio in Madrid, Spain. Moreover, she worked at CNN Radio Notícias and also was a part of the original team that launched CNN en Español as a 24-hour network. From 2002 to 2003, she worked as a weekend anchor for CNN Headline News.

Miles also worked for an ABC-affiliated WJBF-TV as Aiken Bureau Chief, anchor and reporter until 2003. Afterward, she worked as reporter for ABC11 WTVD-TV from 2003 to 2006. Before joining ABC7 WABC, she was a senior news reporter at ABC-affiliated WFAA-TV in Dallas.

In 2009, she joined the Eyewitness News Team as a general assignment reporter, covering international breaking news stories. She now works as an Emmy-winning reporter for the network.
