American music history has lost its gem, and he is Dr. John. The singer has left a giant of a career since the 1950s for over six decades, and his absence is a significant loss for many, especially the new aspiring artists.

Born as Malcolm John Rebennack, the singer was famous by his stage name, Dr. John. The six-time Grammy Award winner in 1989, 1992, 1996, 2000, 2008 and 2013 is also known as the 2011 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee.

The actual reason for the 77-year-old death is from a heart attack on 6 June 2019. Malcolm’s finally gave an official statement about his passing through his publicist which reads,

Towards the break of day June 6, iconic music legend Malcolm John Rebennack, Jr, known as Dr. John, passed away of a heart attack. The musician “created a unique blend of music which carried his hometown, New Orleans, at its heart, as it was always in his heart. The family thanks all who shared his unique musical journey & requests privacy at this time. Memorial arrangements will be announced in due course.

Many industrial musical elites, including Debbie Harry, paid tribute to the singer sharing a picture with him.

Other than Debbie, the former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr tweeted a picture along with Dr. John on 6 June 2019 and wrote,

God bless Dr. John, peace and love to all his family. I love the doctor, peace, and love.

Career & Net Worth

The late singer net worth should be shinning in a million figures since the 1950s. Some of his commercially successful albums include Ske-Dat-De-Dat: The Spirit of Satch (2014), Locked Down (2012), Goin’ Back to New Orleans (1992) and Gris-Gris (1968).

Dr. John Bio, Family & Relationships

The artist was born on 20 November 1941 in New Orleans to parents, Malcolm John Rebennack Sr. and Dorothy Rebennack. His dad used to own an appliance store and record shop. Apart from the family, Dr. John had walked the aisle twice and had many children.
