Bennedict is the son of parents Felix Mathurin and Elvie Jeune. He was born Bennedict Richard Felder Mathurin on 19 June 2002 in Montreal, Canada.

Mathurin grew up with his sister Jenn Mathurin and a half-brother named Dominque Jeune in Montreal-Nord. He lost his brother Dominque in 2014 who died at age 15 in a bicycle accident.
