Ava Eliot Jackman has garnered much media attention, being the daughter of the prominent hollywood power couple. However, her parents had a tragic journey to parenthood so far.

Ava Eliot Jackman is the adopted daughter of the X-Men film series star Hugh Jackman and his actress wife Deborra Lee Furness.  She is one of the two adopted children of the power couple.

Ava has a 20-year-old adopted brother named Oscar Maximilian Jackman. Oscar was born on 15 May 2000 to Amber Lanham, who died by suicide in 2005. Amber did not introduce him to her family before he was adopted, nor reveal his birth father.

Earlier, Ava did her schooling at SoHo, Manhattan. She is currently pursuing her high school education.

Her Adoption Story; Biological Parents, Ethnicity

Huge and Deborra met on the set of Australian TV show Correlli in 1995. The duo tied the wedding knot on 11 April 1996 at St. John’s in Toorak, Victoria, a suburb of Melbourne.

However, their road to parenthood had been painful as Deborra suffered two miscarriages. The couple was unable to have biological children so they decided to enter the adoption process.

 “Ava” is derived from the Latin word “Avis” which means “Bird”.  Likewise, the name “Eliot” in English means “God on high; my God is Jehovah”.
