Arianne was born to parents of diverse ethnic backgrounds. She was born on 21 April 1996 in Meppel, Netherlands.

The tennis player’s father is Lieke Hartono and her mother is Okki Hartono. Both her parents hail from Indonesia and came to the Netherlands in the 1990s. Her love for tennis comes mostly from her maternal side as her uncle Deddy Tedjamukti and aunt Lukky Tedjamukti were professional tennis players from Indonesia.

Arianne has an elder brother named Adriaan Hartono who is a pharmacist by profession. She was introduced to tennis by her brother who also played tennis in his early days.

Her Career Journey

Hartono played her first competitive match at age 16 on the ITF World Tennis Tour in the Netherlands in 2012. She went to the University of Mississippi to play collegiate tennis from 2014 to 2018.

In her senior year, she won the 2018 NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Championship. Eventually, she became the first player to win the championship from her country.

Arianne made her Grand Slam debut at the 2022 Australian Open. As of now, she has won two singles and fifteen doubles titles on the ITF Circuit. She recently competed at her second Australian Open in 2023.
