Jil is the daughter of Jacques Teichmann and Regula Teichmann. She was born Jil Belén Teichmann on 15 July 1997 in Barcelona, Spain.
However, she does not have a Spanish passport as both her parents are Swiss. Her father hails from Dübendorf and her mother is a native of Illnau-Effretikon.
The player’s father used to work in Spain during the time of her birth. She is accompanied younger brother named Raul Teichmann. Raul now plays collegiate tennis at Cleveland State University.
Her Career Journey
Teichmann had a remarkable junior and was ranked the world’s No. 3 player. Likewise, she won a Grand Slam title in the girls’ doubles event at the 2014 US Open.
The 5-foot-7-inch has won six singles and five doubles titles on the ITF Women’s Circuit. She won the doubles title in WTA 125 tournaments at Newport Beach Challenger in January 2018.
