Brit Hume is an American media personality currently serving as a Senior Analyst on Fox News Channel. He previously served as a chief White House correspondent on ABC News from 1989 to 1996.

Brit Hume Early Life, Education

Alexander Britton Hume was born on 22 June 1943 in Washington, D.C. He is the son of George Graham Hume and Virginia Powell. His mother died at the age of 61 on 1st June 1973 and his father died at the age of 90 on 16 Dec 1997.

Hume with a towering height of 6 feet 4 inches attended St. Albans School at his hometown. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Virginia at the age of 22 in 1965.

Earlier, Brit worked for the newspapers such as The Hartford Times, United Press International and the Baltimore Evening Sun. He also worked as the Washington editor of a press criticism journal, MORE magazine.

In 1972, Hume joined ABC News as a consultant and later became correspondent in 1976. There, he covered the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate for 11 years. In 1989, he became the chief White House correspondent of the network.

After working for 23 years, he left ABC and joined Fox News in 1996. He then began to host the one-hour political news program, Special Report with Brit Hume. The show became the No. 1 weeknight political program on cable. In addition to his responsibility, he appears as a regular panelist on the broadcast network’s weekly public affairs program, FOX News Sunday.

Married Life, Children

Well, the 76-year-old is a twice married man. Firstly, he married Clare Jacobs Stoner on 10 February 1965. Later, they divorced after a couple of years of marriage.

Brit and Clare have three children; two sons Sandy and Louis Hume and a daughter named Virginia Hume. Their first son Sandy was a reporter for the newspaper The Hill, who committed suicide in February 1998. His daughter Virginia worked as a contributor to The Weekly Standard.

Hume then married Kim Schiller in July 1993. The couple first met while working on ABC news, where Kim was a producer for the network.  Moreover, she served as a Bureau Chief for the Washington Bureau in the FOX News Channel.
