Vossoughian attended Northfield Mount Hermon School, a boarding school in western Massachusetts. After high school, she went to Occidental College in Los Angeles. There, she graduated with an Advanced Bachelor of Arts degree at the age of 22 in 2000.

After graduation, Yasmin began to work at E! Entertainment TV in New York City. Later, she worked for “The Howard Stern Show” for some time, and then became a production assistant for the Style Network.

In 2005, she joined Al Gore’s newly launched Current TV and served as a correspondent for a year. Afterward, in 2006 she became a world poll correspondent for Gallup based in Washington, D.C. Moreover, she worked as an online correspondent for One Minute News in 2011. She was a host and producer for a live news and entertainment program at AOL. Yasmin was 5 months pregnant at the time of her wedding. Subsequently, she gave birth to a baby boy named Azur Vossoughian Clifford on 13 October 2016. They welcomed their second son named Noor Ahad Clifford on 9 August 2018.
