Born on 3 September 1993 in Wiener Neustadt, Austria, Dominic Thiem is 26 years old. He is the son of his tennis coach parents, Wolfgang Thiem and Karin Thiem. Besides, Dominic has a younger brother named Moritz Thiem, who is also a professional tennis player.

Dominic grew up in Lichtenworth alongside his family. He began playing tennis at the age of six. His father, Wolfgang, began working as a coach at Gunter Bresnik’s academy in Vienna in 1997 when Dominic was just three years old. Eventually, Gunter started coaching Dominic when he turned nine.

The tennis player stands tall at a height of 6 feet and 1 inch (1.85 meters). His strong build helps a lot to dominate the opponents with pace and power in the tennis court.

After his deep runs in the consecutive tournaments in 2016, Dominic attained a career-high ranking of 15 on 22 February 2016. Later that year, he reached his first Grand Slam semifinal at the French Open, thus making is way inside the top ten of ATP rankings. Dominic was placed 7th in the table.

Moreover, the Austrian superstar ended the 2018 season ranked world No. 8. However, he returned to his career-best 4th position in 2019 with Masters-1000 title, five singles titles, and ATP Finals runner-up.

The stats suggest that Dominic is the second highest-ranked Austrian player in history, behind Thomas Muster, who was ranked No. 1 in 1996.
