Undoubtedly, Eryk Anders’ Brazilian wife Yasmin is the reason behind his successful career. The couple, who married in 2016 are now raising their two sons so far.

Eryk Anders is an American professional mixed martial artist who competes in the Middleweight division for the UFC. He began his mixed martial arts career as an amateur in 2012.

Eryk Anders Family & Early Life

Eryk Anders was born on 21 April 1987 in Clark Air Base, Mabalacat, Philippines. His mother, Kerrie Lindberg who was in the Air Force was stationed there at the time. Meanwhile, his father Gayle Anders was an Air Force captain.

Anders grew up with three brothers Gayle, Mycal and Bryan Anders, and two older sisters Tamra and Jessica Anders. Earlier, he had developed an interest in football as all his brothers played college football.

The 6-foot1-inch attended Smithson Valley High School in Spring Branch, Texas, where he played football. Soon after graduation, he moved to the University of Alabama to play college football. There, he earned his BS in human environmental science and general health studies in 2009.

Early Stint To Football

Eryk played as a linebacker for the Alabama Crimson Tide for four seasons; from 2006 to 2009. Later, he signed a free-agent contract with the NFL side Cleveland Browns in April 2010.

Anders also had a brief stint with Canadian Football League. He played with the Colorado Crush in the Arena Football League for a season.

His MMA Career

Eryk began his MMA career as an amateur, participating in 22 amateur bouts in 2012. Moving to Bellator MMA he made his debut on 21 October 2016, defeating Brian White by TKO in 23 seconds.

In 2017, he joined Legacy Fighting Alliance and claimed the Legacy Fighting Alliance middleweight championship after defeating Brendan Allen via a 49-46 unanimous decision on 23 June 2017.

On 22 June 2017, he made his UFC debut against Rafael Natal at UFC on FOX 25 and won the fight via knockout in the first round. He earned the Performance of Night award, defeating Tim Williams at UFC Fight Night 135 on 25 August 2018. His recent fight was against Krzysztof Jotko, at UFC on ESPN: Overeem vs. Harris on 16 May 2020, which he lost via unanimous decision.

Meet His Brazilian Wife, Children

The 33-year-old fighter has been married to Brazilian wife Yasmin Anders for more than three years. The pair tied the wedding knot on 6 June 2016. Yasmin, who hails from Curitiba, Brazil is an English teacher, who recently started her Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey. She often participates in bodybuilding competitions and is also a fitness freak according to her Instagram.

The duo first met after an amateur fight on the local scene in 2015. Afterward, they started chatting and began their dating life. Yasmin was pursuing a master’s degree and had already worked as a lawyer in Brazil.

The couple is raising two sons; Israel, born on 25 July 2009, and Noah born in 2012.
