The UFC Hall of Fame inductee, Michael Bisping has achieved much for his country and his family. He is now enjoying a blissful married life with his Australian wife for more than six years.

Michael Bisping is a retired Engish mixed martial artist, who now appears as a sports analyst and a color commentator. He is a former UFC Middleweight Champion, a former Cage Rage Light Heavyweight Champion and The Ultimate Fighter 3 Light Heavyweight tournament winner.

Michael Bisping Family & Education

Michael Bisping was born on 28 February 1979 on a British Military Base in Nicosia, Cyprus. He is one of the five children of Jan Konrad Bisping and Kathleen Armkage. His father served in the British Army and his parents married on 30 October 1975.

The 6-foot-1-inch grew up in Clitheroe, Lancashire with two brothers; Conrad and Adam, and two sisters; Maxine and Shireen.

At an early age of eight, he began training Jujutsu, and at 15, he competed as an amateur in Britain’s first “no holds barred” competition, a precursor to modern MMA, called Knock Down Sport Budo (KSBO). Bisping attended Saint Augustine’s Roman Catholic High School in Billington.

His Career Achievements

Michael made his professional mixed martial arts debut at Pride & Glory 2: Battle of the Ages on 4 April 2004. There, he took a 0:38 submission victory over Steve Mathews. He became the Cage Rage light heavyweight champion at Cage Rage 7 in his third MMA match. Similarly, he won the FX3 light-heavyweight title on 18 June 2005.

Bisping became the first British fighter to compete in a UFC main event at UFC 78 on 17 November 2007. Moreover, on 4 June 2016, he defeated Luke Rockhold in the UFC 199, being the first British fighter to win a UFC Championship.

Michael announced his retirement from MMA on 28 May 2018. For his remarkable career achievement, he was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame on 5 July 2019.

His Married Life With Australian Wife

Michael is now married to his longtime love Rebecca Bisping. The duo first met outside of a nightclub in Manchester, England in 1999 and started dating. They walked down the aisle on 16 May 2014 at Rancho Las Lomas in Orange County, California.

Rebecca hails from Adelaide, Australia, who has more than 18k followers on her Instagram. The 41-year-old always feel grateful for the dedication of his wife which made him a successful MMA fighter. Rebecca always had faith in him during his struggling phase and deserves to enjoy his success.

How Many Children Do They Have?

The couple is the parents of three children. They welcomed their first child, a son named Callum Bisping on 26 April 2001. His son Callum was born 9 weeks premature.

Similarly, their second child, a daughter named Ellie Bisping was born on 5 February 2003 and their third child a son named Lucas Bisping was born on 15 May 2010.
