German Professional Golfer Sophia Popov has many amateur wins including the 2008 European Ladies’ Club Trophy and the 2009 European Ladies’ Club Trophy. The 27-year-old won her first major title at the British Open on 23 August 2020. As a fact, the championship prize money is sixth time more than any of her previous earnings which is $675,000. She marked her ball a few inches from the hole on the 18th green and began to cry in the arms of her caddie.

In 2020, with the LPGA and Symetra tours being jeopardy by the COVID-19 pandemic, Sophia won three tournaments on the Cactus Tour, a mini-tour based in Arizona. She followed that up with victory in the AIG Women’s Open at Royal Troon, having qualified by means of a high finish at the Marathon Classic. Before the Women’s Open, Popov took the 304th overall rank in the world. In early 2019, she took part in the LPGA Tour via the qualifying school.
