Jordan Whitehead’s NFL Career: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Following a successful college campaign, Jordan Whitehead turned professional as he entered the 2018 NFL Draft. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers picked him in the fourth round (117th overall) as he became the 10th safety drafted in 2018.
Jordan got the chance to make an on-field impact after he stared in the Buccaneers’ season-opening 48-40 victory over the New Orleans Saints. Subsequently, he ringed his first career start on 14 October 2018. Jordan finished his rookie season with 76 combined tackles and four pass deflection in 15 games and 11 starts.
Later in the 2019 season, he recorded his first career interception in a 55-40 win over the Los Angeles Rams. He completed his sophomore season with 69 tackles and recorded 74 tackles in the 2020 season.

After being picked in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, Jordan penned a four-year, $3.12 million-worth contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on 10 May 2018. His contract also includes a signing bonus of $667,257.

In his first season, Jordan earned a salary in excess of $480,000. Similarly, his salaries for the 2019 and 2020 seasons were $570,000 and $750,000 respectively. As of 2021, Jordan is set to receive an annual salary of $920,000.
