Jack Flaherty is an American professional baseball pitcher who plays for the St. Louis Cardinals of Major League Baseball (MLB). Before making his professional debut, he enjoyed the high school career with the Harvard-Westlake.

The 24-years-of-age baseball player was born with the name Jack Rafe Flaherty on 15 October 1995 in Burbank, California, the United States. However, the details of his actual parents remain confined as Jack was adopted by Eileen Flaherty when he was just three weeks old. Since, he sees his entire world on the eyes of his mom, Eileen. He also has a brother named Grady Flaherty.

About 6 feet and 3 inches (1.93 meters) tall in height, Jack attended the Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles, California. There he pitched and played shortstop and third base as a member of the varsity baseball team for all four of his years.

Career Stats, Contract

Although Jack signed a letter of intent to attend the University of North Carolina, he commenced his professional career after the St. Louis Cardinals drafted him in the first round of the 2014 MLB Draft. He penned a contract with the team on 17 June 2014 for a $2 million bonus. Eventually, he ringed his minor league career with the Cardinals of the Gulf Coast League.

Jack finally found his place in the major league after the Cardinals promoted him to make an MLB debut against the San Francisco Giants on 1 September 2017. In his first game, he pitched four innings, gave up five runs, and struck out six while not receiving a decision in an eventual 11-6 win. As far as the 2019 season is concerned, he was named the National League Pitcher of the Month for August.
