After a three-season spell, Matt got the fortune to be in the 2008 NFL draft. He became the first-round pick and decided to join Falcons on a six years deal worth $72 million on 20 May 2008. A part of the contract was a guaranteed income of $34.75 million. In his debut NFL season, he became the first rookie of the team with applauding stats and threw more than 3000 yards against Tampa Bay. 

In the next season, his other stats were throwing for 229 yards including two touchdowns when the Falcons played against the Miami Dolphins in a 19-7 win. It’s been over a decade, Matt’s association is with the Falcons and in the 2020 season, he has made 450 passing yards, two touchdowns, but unfortunately, the team failed to win against Seattle Seahawks with a scoreboard, 25-38.

Moreover, in the 2013 season, he signed a five-year contract worth $103.75 million on 25 July 2013. Five years later, he and the Falcons agreed upon another contract of five years worth $150 million on 3 May 2018. On 12 March 2019, Falcons reconstructed his contract and made $8.75 million as his signing bonus.

Injury Details: From Turn Toe Injury To Ankle & Shoulder!

In college season opener, he became the starting quarterback due to an injury to Quinton Porter. Some years later in the 2009 season with the Falcons, Matt faced a turf toe injury against Tampa Bay. In the 2012 season, he faced another injury, and this time, it was his shoulder. Moreover, in 2019, the athlete was left behind with an ankle injury towards the season’s mid-way.

The Falcons star has been married to a lady, Sarah Marshall since 2011. Together the pair share twin boys, Marshall Thomas Ryan and John Matthew Ryan earlier in 2019. According to People, due to pregnancy complications, Sarah was on a complete hospital rest since 9 January 2019. The news of their children’s arrival was made public through Sarah’s IG page on 8 April 2019.

However, the couple has remained tight-lipped to reveal unspecified complications.
