Anfernee Simons is an American professional basketball player who has also represented the United States men’s national under-19 basketball team during the summer of 2017.

The 21-years-of-age basketball shooting guard was born Anfernee Tyrik Simons on 8 June 1999 in Altamonte Springs, Florida, the United States. He is the son of his parents Charles Simons and Tameka Simons. Anfernee attended Edgewater High School in Orlando, Florida, where he also commenced his amateur basketball career. Eventually, he joined the IMG Academy in Bradenton for a postgraduate year.

Anfernee stands tall at a height of 6 feet and 3 inches (1.91 meters). Besides, he possesses a strong body physique with a weight of 181 pounds (82 kg).

During his time at Edgewater High School, Anfernee averaged 17.8 points, 4.6 assists, 2.4 rebounds, and 1 steal per game in 30 games during his sophomore year. Subsequently, he graduated from Edgewater in 2017 averaging 23.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.8 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game in 20 games played in his last year there.

Anfernee finally made his way into the NBA field as the 24th overall pick of the Portland Trail Blazers in the 2018 NBA draft, as he rejected many offers from the college teams. He penned a three-year, $6,237,120 worth contract with the team on 2 July 2018. As per the terms, he receives an average salary of $2,079,040.

He was assigned to the Agua Caliente Clippers for an NBA G League assignment by the Blazers on 21 January 2019. Anfernee made his first career start for the Trail Blazers against the Sacramento Kings on 10 April 2019. He recorded stats of 37 points, 6 rebounds, and 9 assists in the game.

According to NBA, Afernee is set to compete in the NBA All-Star slam dunk contest on 7 March 2021. The event is going to set place at State Farm Arena in Atlanta.
