Sharon Tazewell has been married to her husband Thomas Tazewell for nearly two decades.

The couple exchanged the wedding vows on 15 July 2001. Their wedding ceremony was held at Severance Hall in Cleveland, Ohio.

Her husband Thomas serves as the Director of Security – Identity and Access Management for Allscripts, a Software company. He is a 1992 graduate of the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical University.

Besides, the couple is operating AntiguaBella, a 5 Star vacation villa in Antigua & Barbuda.

Sharon and her husband are now co-parenting four children. They are three daughters, including Ariel Tazewell and Justice Tazewell, and a son named Victor Tazewell.

The anchor now resides with her husband and children in North Carolina.

Born in the year 1974 in Saint John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, Sharon Tazewell is 46 years of age. She celebrates her birthday on 1st September, which makes her birth sign Virgo. Likewise, her maiden name is Miller.

Tazewell spent her childhood with her parents in four countries: Antigua and Barbuda, Trinidad and Tobago, Canada, and the United States.

Her father is a politician/minister who ran a radio broadcast called Sharon Gospel Hour, reaching several West Indian islands and South America. She is the youngest of three children and has two older brothers in the family.

After high school, the journalist attended Eastern Mennonite University. Afterward, she was transferred to Kent State University, where she majored in Journalism and Mass Communications with a concentration in Broadcast News.

Sharon belongs to mixed ethnicity. She has multi-ethnic backgrounds from her family side. Her father is American and her mother is from Trinidad and Tobago.

Sharon began her journalism career in 2001 at an ABC-affiliated WEHT TV station. She then worked as an evening anchor at a CBS-affiliated WCTV in Thomasville, Georgia.

From 2005 to 2018, she served in CBS-affiliated WNCN, anchoring WNCN Today and WNCN at 11. Afterward, she moved to ABS News in her native Antigua and Barbuda and worked as evening news and anchor.

Moreover, she was the Deputy Director of News and Current Affairs at the network. In October 2020, she joined the Statewide Newscasts team at Spectrum News 1. She now appears as the evening news anchor for the network.

  • Apart from her journalism work, she is a trained pianist and vocalist.
