The baseball star, age 36, was born as Sergio Francisco Romo on 4 March 1983 in Brawley, California, the United States. He was born to his Mexican parents. Sergio’s father, Frank Romo, was a baseball player.

Standing tall at the height of 5 feet and 11 inches (1.8 m), Sergio graduated from Brawley Union High School in 2001. He was already up and running with his junior baseball career. Subsequently, he moved to Arizona Western College and continued his amateur baseball career.

Sergio Romo marched into the MLB field as the 28th round pick of the San Francisco Giants in the 2005 MLB draft. After playing for minor teams for some time, he ringed his major league debut on 26 June 2008 in a 4-1 loss to the Cleveland Indians. Later in 2011, he became the fifth reliever in MLB history to throw nine or more consecutive perfect innings.

After a 12-year stint at the Giants, Sergio penned a one-year, $3 million contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers, on 15 February 2017. However, later on 22 July the same year, the Dodgers traded him to the Tampa Bay Rays for cash considerations or a player to be named later.

Back on 12 February 2019, Sergio signed a one-year, $2.5 million deal with the Miami Marlins. He was then traded to the Minnesota Twins on 27 July 2019.

The baseball pitcher got married to his wife named Chelsea Codlin when she was still in college. As Sergio was always busy on team tours, the couple had to spend the early part of their marriage apart from each other. The distance became a big strain on their relationship as husband and wife. However, Chelsea’s support for her husband kept the bond intact.

The married pair enjoys a soothing company of four children. They welcomed their first child, a boy named Rilen Serge Romo in January 2006. Following that, the couple was blessed with their second son, Rex Ryder Romo in September 2011. They also have two other sons.
