Born as Samuel George Ehlinger on 30 September 1998, the 22-years-of-age American football quarterback hails from Austin, Texas, the United States. Sam is among the two children of his parents, Ross Herbert Ehlinger and Jena Ehlinger. Sam grew up alongside his younger brother, Jake Ehlinger.
Over the years, Sam and his family have gone through a devastating family tragedy. Back in 2013, he lost his Austin attorney father at the age of 46. Ross died while competing in San Francisco’s Escape from Alcatraz triathlon.

Sam Ehlinger commenced his amateur football career as a quarterback for Westlake High School in Austin, Texas. He graduated from school as an all-time leader in passing yards and touchdowns. After that, he committed to play football at the University of Texas at Austin on 28 July 2015.
Throughout his college career, Sam Ehlinger made some impressive stats. In his four years at college, Sam recorded 94 touchdowns for 11,436 passing yards and 33 touchdowns for 1,907 rushing yards from 46 games.
