Born as Reginald Jordan Perry, he is 20 years of age. He was born on 21 March 2000 and grew up with his family in Flowood, Mississippi, United States.
Reggie is the son of parents Al Perry and Kimberli Perry. His father played basketball for Mississippi State from 1975 to 1978.
He is one of three children and has three siblings; two brothers named Alex Perry and Alan Perry and a sister named Kristina Perry. His brother Alex played college football at the Tuskegee University.
Perry attended Thomasville High School in Thomasville, Georgia, and graduated in 2019. He then went to study kinesiology at the Mississippi State University. The athlete stands at the height of 6 feet 8 inches (2.03 meters) and weighs 250 lbs (113 kg).
Journey From College To NBA
Reggie played college basketball for Mississippi State Bulldogs for two seasons. In his second season, he averaged 17.4 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. However, he declared for the 2020 NBA draft after the season.
The Los Angeles Clippers drafted him with the 57th overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft. Subsequently, he was traded to the Brooklyn Nets on 19 November 2020. He signed a contract with the Nets on 27 November, and his contract was converted to a two-way contract on 19 December.
As per the contract, Perry would split time between the Nets and their NBA G League affiliate, the Long Island Nets. He made his NBA debut for the Nets against the Golden State Warriors on 22 December 2020. There, he made 2 points and 1 assist in the 123-99 win against the Warriors.
