At age 13 and 330 days, Nishiya became the youngest Olympic gold medalist for her nation. She is also the third-youngest gold medalist in Olympic history per wiki. The aspiring athlete snatched gold with 15.26 points leaving Brazil’s Leal Rayssa who won silver with a 14.64 score and Funa Nakayama, another Japanese stakeholder winning the bronze at age 16 with a 14.49 score.
