Country Singer Earl Thomas Conley Dies At Age 77!

Country singer Earl Thomas Conley has died at age 77 on 10 April 2019!

Fred Conley, his brother confirmed the death news stating that he had a dementia-like condition and was in hospice care for several months.

Earl’s life partner for more than 20 years, Carol Scates expressed her sorrow in his death stating that she is “heartbroken”.

We are heartbroken. The light has dimmed but his light will shine on in his music.

Similarly, his daughter Erinn stated that her singer father “was a great dad, and he filled our lives with color.

However, the family did not reveal the cause of his death. His body is donated to Vanderbilt Medical School.

Various fellow country artists shared the series of tributes for the late singer on social media. The list includes singer Blake Shelton, Big & Rich vocalist John Rich, and Chad Cooke Band.

Conley is survived by three children and his partner of 20 years Carol Scates. However, in 1988, he told United Press International that he lives on a 62-acre farm in Franklin, Tennessee, with his wife, Sandra Sue Smith.

Earl Thomas Conley Bio & Career

Earl was born on 17 October 1941 in Portsmouth, Ohio. His father lost his job when Earl was 14 and he moved with his older sister in Jamestown, Ohio. Initially, he joined the US Army and served for several years.

After moving to Huntsville, Alabama he met producer Nelson Larkin and signed with record label GRT in 1974 and released four singles on that label. In 1979, he signed with Warner Bros. Records and released his first Top 40 hit, “Dreamin’s All I Do“. Earl has charted more than 30 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, out of which 18 reached Number One. The veteran singer boasted the net worth of $8 million from his musical stint.
