Born as Nathaniel Harry Phillips on 21 March 1997, he is 24 years of age. His parents Jimmy Phillips and Anna Phillips raised him in Bolton, England.
His father Jimmy is a former footballer who served as a Director at Bolton Wanderers Academy. He played for numerous clubs including Bolton, Middlesbrough, Oxford United, and Rangers. Meanwhile, his mother was a housewife.
The 6-foot is one of the four children of his parents. He has an elder brother named Billy Phillips, elder sister Thea Phillips, and a younger sister named Saskia Rose Phillips.

Nathaniel played and trained under the guidance of his father in the Bolton Wanderers academy. After 12 years, he left Bolton’s Academy to join Liverpool’s academy in 2016.
Phillips started to train with Liverpool’s first team in 2018 and stayed in the reserve team. In 2019, he was loaned to German second-division club VfB Stuttgart for the season.
However, he was recalled n 1 January 2020 because of a defensive injury crisis at his parent club Liverpool. He made his first-team debut for Liverpool on 5 January 2020 in an FA Cup third-round match against Everton.
Afterward, he was loaned back to VfB Stuttgart for the remainder of the 2019-20 season.
