Wolf Isaac Blitzer was born on 22 March 1948 in Augsburg, Germany. He is one of the two children of David Blitzer, a home builder, and Cesia Blitzer, a homemaker. His father David, born in 1922 in the Polish town of Oswiecim, was a proud and generous Jew and Zionist, who died in 2002. Blitzer along with his family immigrated to the United States after World War II and he was raised in Buffalo, New York. He has an older sister named Helena Blitzer.

Wolf with a height of 5 feet 10 inches (1.78 meters) attended Kenmore West Senior High School. He then received a Bachelor of Arts in history from the State University of New York at Buffalo at the age of 22. Afterward, he earned a Master of Arts in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies in 1972.

His Married Life, Daughter      

Blitzer has been married to Lynn Greenfield for more than four decades. The couple tied the wedding knot in 1973 and has been together since then. His wife worked as a professional shopper at Saks Fifth Avenue, an American chain of luxury department stores. He is active on Twitter and Instagram but he does not prefer to share photos of his family.

Wolf and his wife Lynn are the parents of a daughter; Ilana Blitzer, born in 1981. Ilana is a beauty director for two health and wellness magazines: Health magazine and All You magazine. He is a grandfather of Ruben Daniel Snider, a son born from his daughter’s marriage to David Snider.
