The TV Personality was born as Meredith Louise Vieira on 30 December 1953 in Providence, Rhode Island. Talking about her family, she was raised in nearby East Providence, by parents, Mary Elsie (Rosa), and Edwin Vieira. Mary is a homemaker, and her dad works as a medical doctor. Likewise, her other family includes three brothers, Edwin, Steve, and Jeff Vieira. 

Meredith went to the Lincoln School, a Quaker all-girls school in Providence, to complete high school graduation in 1971. She then attended Tufts University to complete her graduation in 1975 with an English degree.

The former The View host and her husband, Richard M. Cohen went to exchange their wedding vows on 14 June 1986. Her husband is a former senior producer of CNN and CBS News. Richard was born on 14 February 1948 in Plainview, New York, to parents, Teresa (Beitzer) and Benjamin Cohen.
