Meanwhile, he earned a J.D. from Cornell Law School, where he worked as an editor of the Cornell Journal of Law and Public Policy.

After graduation, Ari started working as an attorney. He practiced law at a major New York firm, specializing in First Amendment, reporter’s privilege, and copyright litigation from 2009 to 2013. In April 2013, he joined MSNBC and was named the new co-host of MSNBC’s “The Cycle.” He became the Chief Legal Correspondent of the network in 2015 and started covering the Justice Department, FBI, and Supreme Court.
