Kimberley Ann Strassel was born on 24 July 1972 in Buxton, Oregon. She is the eldest of four daughters of Mike Strassel and Annie Strassel. Her father is an auto mechanic, who owns an automotive shop in Banks, Oregon. Similarly, her mother is Catholic who was a demolition derby driver.

Strassel attended Banks High School from where she graduated in 1990. She then earned her B.A. in public policy and international affairs from Princeton University at the age of 22. She grew up with a love for fast cars, inspired by her father. In her early days, she used to do demolition derby driving along with her mother.
Her Career
Kimberley began her journalism career in 1994 as a news assistant of The Wall Street Journal in Brussels. From 1996 to 1999, she worked as a staff writer covering technology for The Wall Street Journal Europe in London. Afterward, she started to cover real estate based on New York.

In 2005, she became a senior editorial writer and member of the editorial board of the Wall Street Journal. As of 2020, she writes the long-running “Potomac Watch” column for the newspaper since 2007. In addition, she appears as a contributor to the Fox News.
Strassel is also an author who co-wrote Leaving Women Behind: Modern Families, Outdated Laws in 2006. Similarly, she published a book named The Intimidation Game: How the Left Is Silencing Free Speech in 2016. Recently, she released a book, Resistance (At All Costs): How Trump Haters are Breaking America on 15 October 2019.

Kimberley Strassel is currently married to British-born American journalist Matthew Rose. The couple exchanged the wedding vows on 16 July 2000 at a ceremony held in Buxton, Oregon. Matthew, aged 47 now serves as an Enterprise Editor at The Wall Street Journal. He graduated with first-class honors from Oxford University in 1993 and received a master’s degree in international studies from Johns Hopkins University in 1995.
