Dana Marie Perino was born on 9 May 1972 to parents Leo and Jan Perino. She was born in Evanston, Wyoming but, grew up with a brother and a sister Angie Perino in Denver, Colorado.

Standing at a height of 5 feet 2 inches (1.57 meters), she attended Ponderosa High School in Parker. Afterward, she went to the Colorado State University-Pueblo from where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mass communications.
