Laurie Walker Dhue was born on 10 February 1969 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, the United States which makes her 55 years of age. She is the daughter of Bob Dhue and Hutton Dhue. Her father Bob served as a vice president of wrestling operations for World Championship Wrestling. She spent her childhood in Atlanta, Georgia with a younger sister named Nancy Dhue. Dhue attended the Westminster School in Atlanta, graduating in 1986. Afterward, she went to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. There, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science with a concentration in dramatic arts at age 21 in 1990. Standing at a height of 6 feet 3 inches (1.9 meters), she is one of the tallest female journalists on television.

Laurie began her career at CNN, where she worked as a guest booker for four years. Besides, she served as an anchor on its weekend programs such as CNN Saturday, CNN Sunday, World View, and The World Today. In April 1999, she joined MSNBC as the anchor of Newsfront. Later, she became the host of its Special Edition.

In 2000, Dhue joined the Fox News Channel and became the host of The Fox Report weekend edition. During her eight-year stint at Fox News, she also contributed to The O’Reilly Factor and Geraldo At Large on the network. Moreover, she served as a co-anchor of The PIX11 Morning News on WPIX-TV. In 2013, she joined TheBlaze media channel and became the host of For The Record. She also served as the evening anchor for TheBlaze TV News and left the station in 2015.

After some years of divorce, Laurie found love again with a guy named Joe Schrank. Both of them shared the same story of recovering alcoholics. Her boyfriend Joe was one of the founders of TheFix, a Daily website for alcohol and drug addiction recovery news and information.
