She took her last breath on 6 November 2019 after paramedics were called to an East Harlem residence to help a girl who was having difficulty breathing. As soon as she was brought to the hospital, she was declared dead.

Also, an obituary posted on the website of Riverside Memorial Chapel reveals that her funeral will be held on 9 November 2019. As a part of her funeral, the obituary included a link for donations towards nonprofit Aids fundraising organization Broadway Cares.
